A RETURN TO
FARMING ROOTS

Frances Vasales grew up in the countryside on her parents’ sheep farm. For years, she and her husband were city dwellers, running their own businesses in Sydney. But life was chaotic. They wanted a change of pace and to be there more for their young children. When, in 2017, Chris suggested they swap urban living for a farm in the hills, Frances jumped at the idea. It was a dream to find their new home in the sought-after Southern Highlands, rich in fertile soil, natural springs and jaw-dropping views. It was a chance to give their kids the upbringing Frances had loved, a life away from the hustle and bustle and a return to nature.

BUILDING A BUSINESS

But the businesswoman in Frances wanted to stay active, so she put her farming knowledge to use. Since 2018, she and the family have been busy building up their impressive herds of pedigree cattle, sheep and pigs, as well as growing vegetables, herbs and fruits and rearing chickens. All 100% in harmony with the land, without any chemicals or fertilisers.
